Statement of Philosophy and Purpose

The Presbyterian Children's Center is an extension of First Presbyterian Church. It is a Preschool as well as a Daycare. PCC was developed to meet the varied needs of the young child. We have discovered that the most influential years of a young child are from birth to six years. This is when they comprise the fastest, most impressionable growth period of a lifetime. What they learn during these years will shape their attitudes about themselves and everyone around them.

The learning experience at PCC will take place in a caring Christian environment where each child's individuality is respected. We believe that faith and education go hand in hand and both glorify God.

Our goal is to give each child an opportunity to grow according to God's plan, at their own pace, with a feeling of "joy of life" and a knowledge that God loves them.

Parent/Staff Communication

Parent/teacher conferences are scheduled in the fall and the spring. This is your opportunity to visit with your child's teacher concerning his/her progress. Parents are welcome to request additional conferences as needed. The Director is always available to assist in conferences.

Monthly newsletters, weekly reports (ages 2-K), daily reports (Infants-Toddlers), and daily notes as needed are all means of communicating with our parents. Please refer to these notes for information concerning classroom activities, upcoming events, and specifics regarding your child.
